We went to North Pole
point where pipe emerges from underground for a few miles
we were there!
I think it's 800 miles long
it's high enough for animals to pass under naturally
exposed pipeline - at least half of it is above ground to protect the permafrost and other geo features
Alaska Pipeline - I was born when the first batch of oil was traveling from Prudoe Bay to Valdez (it took one month)
