another day on the Seward Hwy - started foggy, but brightened up quickly
Sleeping Lady with city lights - on our way back down the mountain
the sun sets further to the south every night - it's been fun to track (oh and sunset is around 9pm now)
interesting shot
The Moon - I'm playing with my camera settings - still need practice
Sleeping Lady - Mt. Susitna - across Cook Inlet from Anchorage
you can see the city lights under the layer of fog - that's Denali, Foraker, and Spurr (at least wikipedia told me that)
we were surprised at how well we could see Denali (we could see snow cover with binoculars) - great colors!
View of Denali from Blueberry Loop
Hello moon - cool affects show my lack of patience
We saw this moose on the way up to Flattop
fiery sunset
Great colors in an autumn sky
mountain to the south of Anchorage
bye bye sun
Jason and the sunset
we saw the moon up over a ridge and decided to chase it - hike up the mtn to Blueberry Trail at 9pm (not to summit of Flattop)
so, the neat thing was the fog that covered Anchorage - see it?
Flattop to the east at sunset
oh - we found the tree again
wow - so many crappy views in this state
following the trail
Chugach Mountains around Eagle River
more of a forested trail than we're used to, but it was pretty
Jason in the tree
beaver dam and pretty views
salmon - we think sockeye?
reading about beavers
soaking up more vitamin D today
fall colors
9/12 - on the way to Eagle River Nature Center (just north of Anchorage)
heading home
we only did some light hiking today - we'll go back again for more - it's only about a 15 minute drive from our apt
looking out under Flattop - you can see "sleeping lady" mountains - they are across the bay from downtown
Flattop Mountain (lots of hiking around here)
pretty scene from from Flattop viewing area
