Kitchen valances

We didn't like the veggie fabric that came with the house, so we decided it was time to buy a sewing machine and make our own valances. We found some terrific olive oil fabric up in Delaware (yes, we have weird taste) and Jason's mom helped us get started. A month later we actually bough a sewing machine of our own and finished them up. We still haven't figured out how "scrunchy" we want them to be, but we figure we'll keep them fuller for now and can always cut off fabric later. We broke in our new machine quite well - only one needle broke on Kim's finger :)
